Issued: (Utility) Method and Apparatus for Easy Connect Stocks
Since shotguns are pointed, not aimed, it is important that they “fit” the shooter. One of the most critical dimension is the “Length of Pull” (the length of the butt stock). Traditionally, shotguns have one stock and it is time-consuming to switch the stock out and requires tools to do so. Mossberg wanted a system to rapidly allow the user to switch between two different stocks allowing two different customers to use the same shotgun, for example a father and a son when practicing at the range without the use of tools. The system that we developed allowed changes in LOP as well as type of stock in the field or at the range. Read more about what was invented.
